The All Together Birthright Trip is mostly like any other Birthright trip. The main differences include: a higher staff-to-participant ratio, specially trained staff members with experience working with these populations, and a special itinerary and accommodation which include: fewer hotel transfers, less rigorous hiking and a generally more relaxed tone and pace.
The trip will include Israel’s important highlights such as Jerusalem (including the Western Wall), Tel Aviv, the Dead Sea and Masada. We will learn about the Holocaust and the role of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), and a special group Shabbat experience. Several Israeli peers currently serving in the IDF will be joining us for the entire trip.
In our years of experience organizing trips for people with disabilities, we have learned the more senses we engage, the better! Israel is truly a multi-sensory classroom.
About the Trip:
The Israel All Together Birthright Trip is geared toward participants with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) as well as participants with I/DD (intellectual/developmental disabilities). While we provide increased number of staff, all participants are expected to require low support for activities of daily care. Our vision for this trip is to provide participants with an exceptional Birthright Israel educational experience tailored to accommodate their social, emotional, and physical needs.
