"Numb": Music & Lyrics by David Silverman
A new song from the artist who created 'Goodbye Bullies'
The song is about someone who can't move their fingers. I wrote this song because I have a disability where I can't always express myself 100%, and I have social communication issues.
Right on the other side of the world, There lived a guy who had his fingers curled. His life was really hard; he couldn’t do a thing. From the crack of dawn up until night, trying to move at the very first sight. But something that the guy could do is sing.
What made him feel down was a misplaced shoe Which filled up a hole like the sky so blue. I was hooked on the feeling of sucking my thumb. Change for the better is on his hand through A variety of ways to stand. No wonder the problems we have when we are numb.
So when he was all alone and cold, The clouds drifted by while the stories unfold. And then went for a jog across the river. From blowing bubbles to stacking cards, There’s something special we have across the yard. But that poor man has bumps that make him shiver.
Trying to extract the sword from the stone Must be very challenging to the bone. He builds a wall of the many great things to come. Change for the better is on his hand through A variety of ways to stand. No wonder the problems we have when we are numb.
The man had a cup of tea at the sweetshop, Freshly cooked with a cherry on top. It shows us how to reminisce a heartwarming time. He wished he could read and write poems and books, Or build a house of bricks near the fishing hooks, Just to be normal for the cost of one dime.
The case was solved by rhythms of plenty, Through a strong beat that felt so empty, Light at the end of the tunnel beneath the drums. Change for the better is on his hand through A variety of ways to stand. [No wonder the problems we have when we are numb.] x2
