JDAIM (Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month) is coming up in February, and disability, neurodiversity and inclusion education is more necessary than ever.
Rafi Josselson, a Jewish Autistic advocate from New York, offers a unique perspective on these important issues. Rafi has been involved in the Jewish community from a young age, having attended Jewish Day School since first grade; Jewish camps (both as staff and camper) since kindergarten; and as an active member of his shul, including as youth group co-president. With Rafi’s extensive experience as an Autistic person in the Jewish world, Rafi brings a unique perspective. Rafi believes that both Autistic people and neurotypical individuals have to work together to achieve realistic, equitable, and just inclusion.
Rafi speaks to a diverse set of audiences, ranging from teachers to fourth-grade students to high schoolers and even adult education groups. He offers in-person speaking in Westchester, Rockland, and Bergen counties and offers Zoom sessions to any organization interested in a virtual presentation. Rafi has presented to various organizations including the pluralistic Charles E. Smith School in Maryland, the reform Temple Israel of New Rochelle in New York, and many more!
Check out Rafijosselson.com for more information and to contact Rafi to set up a session. There is no charge for these sessions, however, if you feel a need to donate please consider giving a donation to MATANKids or another disability organization.
