We are pleased to share this announcement from NJOP and appreciate their outreach to people with disabilities.
On Friday night, March 1st, thousands of Jews will be celebrating Shabbat together as part of Shabbat Across America and Canada. We are delighted to offer you two great ways to participate:
1) Join the annual Shabbat Across America and Canada celebration in your community. To see if there is a location taking part near you, please click here.
2) If you are unable to attend Shabbat Across America and Canada at a synagogue or Jewish center, we invite you to bring Shabbat Across America and Canada home on Friday night, March 1st.
We are delighted to share with you our Shabbat Across America and Canada at Home resources, which will enable you to bring the warmth of Shabbat into the comfort of your own home.
Whether you are celebrating Shabbat for the first time, or observe it every week, you will find something to enhance your Shabbat experience. Among the resources we have available are our introductory "Shabbat Across America and Canada at Home" booklet, our detailed "Jewish Treats Guide to Shabbat" and our "Spirituality at Your Fingertips" guides, which offer a more in-depth explanation of the rituals to help you prepare for this special event.
Register here and let NJOP provide you with what you need to bring the Shabbat experience home.
We look forward to your participation.
Note: If you have a disability and need help registering, please call 646-871-4444
Two years ago, NJOP reached out to a diverse group of Jewish influencers and asked them to tell us what it is about Shabbat that keeps drawing them back to celebrate each week.
Here, Jewish comedian and TV star Elon Gold talks about how Shabbat is what keeps the Jewish people connected.
